Tapminute is a small collection of browser games for the gaps in a day. This page covers the practical questions: what is free, what stays on your phone, and what needs a connection.
What can I play?
There are 20 games across four categories: Arcade, Puzzle, Two-Player, and Classic. Every game has a short how-to-play section and a suggested session length. If you have three minutes, start with Stack or Tap Rush.
Do I need an account?
No. There is no sign-up, no profile, and no cloud save. Open a game and play. Scores, streaks, and settings are kept in this browser’s local storage.
How long is a round?
Most games are designed for one to five minutes. Tap Rush is a 30-second reaction game, Stack is a two-minute tower, and Lights Out is a short logic puzzle. Longer games such as Sudoku and Klondike are still resumable in a single sitting.
Can I play offline?
Part of the site works offline after the first visit: Stack, Tap Rush, Lights Out, and Echo are cached by the service worker. The shell, the four first-party games, and their pages are available without a connection.
The open-source iframe games need a connection because they are loaded from their own game pages and are intentionally not precached. If you open one while offline, Tapminute shows an offline page instead of a broken frame. See What is a PWA game? for the mechanics.
Where are my scores?
In this browser. High scores, daily results, mute settings, and the install prompt state use local storage. Nothing is sent to a Tapminute server. Clearing site data or using a different browser starts over. The privacy page lists the storage keys and what they are for.
What is the daily challenge?
Lights Out Daily uses one UTC date to seed the same 5×5 board for everyone. You get one scored attempt per day; the result and your local streak are saved in the browser. The board changes at 00:00 UTC. The offline collection includes the daily game alongside the other first-party titles.
Can I install it?
Yes, if your browser supports it. On Android and desktop, use the install prompt or your browser menu. On iPhone and iPad, open the Share menu and choose Add to Home Screen. Installation is optional; the site works in a normal tab.
Are the games free? Are there ads?
Tapminute is free and has no accounts or purchases. The current build does not show ads. If advertising is added, ad scripts will only load after the required consent choice, and the privacy page and terms will describe the change before it goes live.
Who made the games?
Four are Tapminute originals: Stack, Tap Rush, Lights Out, and Echo. The rest are open-source games, mostly from Chogan, adapted for this site. The licences page lists every game, its licence, and the changes we made.
Something is wrong
Use the contact page for a broken game, a privacy request, or a correction. Include the game name and, if possible, the browser and device; that is enough to reproduce most layout issues.
