How to play Sliding Puzzle

The tiles are shuffled; the empty square is the only place a tile can move.

Slide one tile at a time until every number is back in order.

Smaller grids are quicker; larger grids take a few more minutes.

Tips for a better run

  • Solve the top row first and then leave it alone.
  • Keep the empty square moving in a small loop instead of dragging tiles at random.
  • On a picture board, match the edge pieces first so the middle becomes easier.

Good for

A calm, one-thumb number puzzle for a coffee break or a short train ride.

Controls

  • Tap a tile next to the empty space to slide it into the gap.
  • Use the size button to choose a smaller or larger grid.
  • Use the picture button to switch between numbers and the image.
